You know it could be better, but how? Planning. Planning out  spaces is a key element in the design  process.
 
EARTH FRIENDLY TIPS
 
 Everyone wants a perfect lawn and garden, but are some of our old-school practices damaging the environment?  IPM or Plant Health Care1,2 is a sensible approach to gardening, whether it is your lawn or your favorite lily. Begin creating a healthier garden life by mulching or schmulching. First water the selected area well. Place layers of newsprint or cardboard on your area. Then throuroghly soak the paper, next top with 3-4 " of mulch and soak this as well. This will keep your weeds down and maintain moisture in the beds.
 A beautiful garden can be maintained with less pesticides, costly water and hundreds of hours.
I am managing my own garden pesticide free!
The Arboretum at SSCC is also pesticide free.

The Design Program

  A designer will show you how the design program works and how
the process of designing is organized. This process should build your confidence in planning out your spaces.
 
     Designers use this process  at the start of each project; to develop a program step by step. These steps insure that all aspects of a plan are well thought out and the results are what you have in mind and within your budget.
 Together we will develop a garden  that is pleasing, comfortable and suits your lifestyle.  See the design portfolio page for a more thorough explanation of this process.

         Questions?

 

 Do I have to go through the whole design process?

 No,you can chose to do as much or as little as you like.

 

Do you do the installations?

  I can help you select a very good installer.It's good practice to have the designer on site during installations.

 

 What if I only want a portion done, say the front or the back? Many people want a small part of the overall garden done.  Often times we create a complete design that is harmonious with the entire proporty. The client installs as resourses allow.

 

Is it difficult to get an appointment for  a consultation?

Call or email me with the form included on this site.I can email the questionnaire to you. The questionaire will help you prepare for your appointment. The questionnnaire is designed to assist your in  prioritizing and sorting through your garden goals.

 

How much is this going to cost me?

 My fees are commensurate with the market rate . Right now the market rate is very favorable for you. . The fees are dependant on your choice of service. Check out the back page for the fee prices. They are fair and I am willing to trade..

 

 Do you do any maintenence or pruning? 

  I have been trained in the prunning care of perennials, shrubs and small trees.

 I am currently on Plant Amnesty's list of approved pruners.The summer 2007 I spent interning in England at Harlow Carr:a Royal Horticulture Society Garden.

 

 How much is a consultation? You will be pleased to know that all the consultations are free for the first hour.
